Weekend on the Lower Cispus with PTCC, WKC & WRRR
* please try and register by Thursday *
http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/detail/id/2091/
Zoom into the map on the AW site, to find the various put-ins, rapids, etc. The Tower Rock RV park is just west of Tower Rock SP (still closed) The river is rated Class 2 and 3. The Class 2 is braided channels, with possible wood issues. The Class 3 is IMHO, a lot like the Green river: a little more difficult than Headworks (without Ledge 1) but easier than the Lower Gorge. Nice pool drops with fun play spots. And very isolated.
Camping: Tower Rock RV and U-Fish
http://towerrockrv.com
One night tent site= $22 plus tax & 1 vehicle $7 each additional vehicle Bring cash or check/no card processing available
Saturday: The "Epic" 17.5 river miles
Meet at the Road 28 Bridge at 10:00am. This is the start of the Class 2 section. (~ 8 mi) We will be floating past the Twin Cedars put-in (the usual kayaker launch) around 12:00. Those who only want to run Class 2 will take-out here. Those who only want to run the Class 3 section, can put-in here.
If you only want to run Twin Cedars down, you'll have to organize your own shuttle, or deal with it at the end of the run. (~9 mi)
Take-out at the Copper Canyon Creek access.
Sunday: TBD on Sunday
Twin Cedars to Copper Canyon Creek (3) Park and Play at Paul's Playpen Split off into your own pod and run the Upper (3/4) Napping
I'll be driving down on Friday night. No phone contact after Friday night.
There is free dispersed camping all up and down the river, but it would be nice to all tell paddling stories together at camp.
Please email me with any questions and I will try and answer as best I can. I am bad about answering my phone, unless you email me first and give me your phone number.
