This group will shuttle and paddle on its own, while most likely camping in the same location as Jon Almquist's group.  

We will run the Class III section (can become Class III+ at the high water) of the beautiful Matheny Creek.  Due to the wood hazards, the SOLID Class II+ boat control skills and some experience in Class III rivers (e.g. Sky Boulder Stretch, Lower Green Gorge) are recommended.  This is an expedition with a little climb down on a steep dirt hill at the put-in and a short climb on a trail at the take-out.  The weather is typically wet and cold.  If your vehicle is large enough to sleep inside, that's the best, but if you have to sleep in a tent, be prepared for rain!
