Mercer Island Circumnavigation

We will meet at Meydenbauer Bay Park in Bellevue. Options for stopping places will be Luther Burbank Park, Grove Beach Park and Clarke Beach Park on Mercer Island.

Start time is launch time, please arrive at least by 8:30 to have time to unload boats and gear up.

The direction will depend on wind, but I plan to stay close to Mercer Island. Expect to paddle as much as 13 nautical miles (or 15-16 miles) depending on the path we take.

Bring lunch and plenty of water and any safety gear you can. I will have a tow rope and am able to perform an assisted rescue should the need arise.

Update Friday 06/03 5:50PM: If this forecast holds, we will see mild south wind in the morning (possibly gusty), becoming west at around 5mph (NOAA) in the afternoon. I propose we paddle around the island in a clockwise direction and maybe have some downwind fun as we head back east into Meydenbauer Bay at the end. Mostly cloudy, high around 71, chance of showers in the morning and likely rain after 4PM.
