Try something new - whitewater slalom!

Written by

The Cedar river slalom gates are nearby and this is a very convenient way to try this great whitewater skill-builder.

Please join us this Saturday, March 9th to hang the race gates.  The course will then be up all week to practice on.  Yipee!

Meet 10:00 am at Landsburg.

Slalom Clinic to follow (around 1:30 pm) -  all are welcome, but of course, we expect you to show up at 10 am to help us get the gates up!!  The wires and twine are already there, so we just need to switch out the practice gates for the race poles and add the numbers. It should go very fast.   Must be either a ACA/WKC member or pay the $5.00 insurance fee for the day. In addition, a donation to the WKC/League racing equipment fund would be appreciated.

For those who are new to slalom, just have your plastic boat, or can't make it Saturday,  I also recommend the Washington Kayak Club trip on the gates on Sunday, March 10th with Mary.

MAKE SURE YOU'VE SAVED MARCH 16-17 to ATTEND THE CEDAR RIVER RACES!

Saturday, March 16 -  Downriver Sprint race at 12:00 pm and a classic starting at 3:00 pm (most likely Maple Valley downstream due to expected water level and current wood conditions).  Practice all day for slalom on Saturday.
Sunday, March 17 - Slalom.  Racer's Meeting at 10:00am.

AWESOME PRIZES!  They are very special.
As usual, there will be classes and prizes for all ages, type of boat, etc.
COST:  $25.00 for everything.  $5.00 off if current ACA member.
