New Klickitat River Warning Sign

Published on 7/1/2015

This sign was sponsored by the WKC, the River Safety Council, and Mike Grijalva, Andy Gross, and Jerod Bartholomeu.   The sign was made in Kent and transported to the Klickitat at the area of Leidl Falls, river mile 3.   It was placed in position on a structure built of concrete, rock and 4x4 posts and cross bars.  We wish it to last a long time and stop people from stumbling into Leidl Falls.  At the raft put-in several miles above this section, a second sign was placed to advise boaters putting in that there are serious wood dangers likely in this class 3 section of river.   Deaths have occurred in this river several times.  Be alert.  Question every corner and look for wood.  Scout Jeff's Island log jam.  Pay respects to Jeff.   Choose the far left channel usually.  Enjoy this wild river.
