WHAT IS 58 YEARS OLD AND THE MOST FUN, EVER???

WASHINGTON KAYAK CLUB’S ANNUAL

SALMON LA SAC (aka: WKC Bottoms-Up Regatta)

Whitewater Races and

Weekend Gathering

JUNE 1-2, 2019

 All are welcome. It’s not just for racers!

 At the USFS Salmon la Sac campground (near Roslyn, in eastern Washington).

 On the Cle Elum River

 It’s always the first full weekend in June!

SATURDAY ACTIVITIES

Friday, May 31 – We need help to construct the slalom course – 9:30 AM.

You’ll get river practice in early and grab a good campsite! no experience required. Seriously, VOLUNTEERS NEEDED. Email Jennie at theleague@nwwhitewater.org or call at 206-713-0520.

Saturday night
Campfire-

 NOTE: Traditional Kid's Scavenger Hunt Organizer needed

 Bring your musical instrument, your lawn chair, a dessert or drink if you’re so inclined and your own plate, fork, and cup. All happening at campsite 004.

Sunday - Slalom race.

 This race is NOT just for race boats. Plastic boats and open boats have their own class and even their own trophies.

 Never tried slalom before? This is a good time and place to give it a go.

Camping: The Salmon la Sac campground has BOTH first-come, first-served sites and reservable sites available, but last I checked, reserveamerica.com showed all reservable sites taken, so show up as early as possible and grab a site. Or share. Sorry I can’t save a site for you. http://www.reserveamerica.com/camping/salmon-la-sac/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NRSO&parkId=70321

Cost
: On-water participation – Saturday only or both Saturday and Sunday is $20.00 per person. More than one race class is an additional $5.00. There will be separate classes based on age, gender, and type of boat. The prizes (there are many winners at SLS!) are really cool this year; don’t miss out.

How to Get There:
Navigate I-90 east of Seattle and exit at Roslyn. Drive

through town (the whole place is a speed trap and stays a speed trap until

you get to the campground: Beware!) to the end of the road, and there you

are at both the race site and campground.
