Welcome to the 2017 WKC Level 2-4 Surf Clinic Series for Surf / WW / SOT Kayaks
Event Description: Individually Tailored Surf Kayaking Clinics
Dates: 10-11 June 2017
Description: This weekend long clinic is designed for the beginning or intermediate surf kayaker who is interested in learning to surf their choice of kayak (surf kayak, sit-on-top, or whitewater kayak) safely and for maximum fun and with efficiency in surf zone conditions.
Objective: Learn how to launch and land safely, how to surf the paddle craft of your choice, and learn safety and rescues techniques for the surf zone.
Highly qualified and experienced ACA certified instructors will provide individualized training at all skill levels in both group and one-on-one settings in your personal kayak or in one of our loaner Sit-On-Top Surf Kayaks.
Advanced skills can be taught as students progress.
The surf zone is an amazing environment for developing many kayaking skills at once and it can be a fun place to learn! Improve bracing, balance and edging skills and progress in stroke proficiency. You will learn new techniques for reading moving water and have opportunities to practice the skills in a supportive environment. For more advanced paddlers, begin to learn, improve or refine surfing maneuvers and skills.
