Slalom Paddling Skills Clinic - Flatwater and Ceda...
Author Last Post
Hi Shawn,

Thank you for your email. It was in my Spam folder, along with Michael’s email about the change in location on 10/17. And Michael did leave me a voicemail, which I did not see until today. So, it’s partially my own fault for not checking or no one’s fault and just a misunderstanding. Unfortunately, I work on November 10, so cannot take the class from MedicOne. But hopefully we’ll meet again soon on a river.

Annie,

We met in the parking lot for the training this morning.

They moved the class, according to the WKC site, although you and I received no such notice or communication.  Nor did the third person, Terry if I recall his name correctly.

My wife found a similar class for less then I paid put on by MedicOne.  I have a link for eventbrite.com for training on November 10th in Sammamish.

Hopefully we get full refunds from Cascade and an apology.

Shawn

Hi,

I would love to participate in this clinic, but I don’t have a hard shell, only a packraft. Is there anyway I can borrow one from someone. I’m small framed.

Also, the CPR class is a fraud. I arrived this morning at the Fire station but was informed there is no such class. Please let John know of this situation.

Thanks,
Annie Su

Huge positive response! Unfortunately

This clinic is now full with a waiting list. Unfortunately I can’t squeeze in more this weekend. But do let me know if you wish to be informed of any future clinics. Please contact me at theleague@nwwhitewater.org and I will let you know.

All day Coached clinic available on November 1, 2025 - Saturday. Begins at 10 am on Lake Wilderness and then moves in the afternoon to the Cedar River gates. Certified slalom coach is in town and can teach 6 people only. Cash of $50.00 to be paid directly. This is NOT a WKC trip. You'll improve your forward stroke, learn to turn your boat quickly, and catch eddies and make ferrys ABOVE those nasty holes!! In addition, you will be primed to look your best on Sunday at the Cedar River Slalom Race. If interested, contact Jennie at 206-713-0520. Participants must have class 2+ paddling skills and the class is geared to paddlers in plastic boats.
