Due to a fatality caused by a falling tree at McKenna Park (the put in for the McKenna to Yelm Hydro-Plant run) the park is temporarily closed.

Today, we dropped boats and gear at the gauging station on the NW side of the bridge, and parked in the Walmart parking lot another mile west of the bridge. It took about 20 minutes to park and make the walk back to the put-in.

Speaking with the Generation Manager for the Yelm Hydro Project, he indicated the park may be closed for another month. And, the timeframe is not completely certain.
