River Rescue Course June 4 - 5, 2016
Dr. Whitewater, Casey Garland, will again present a river rescue course for WKC members, the weekend of June 4 and 5. The emphasis of the program will be on the assessment of an incident and executing safe rescue scenarios, rope work, and techniques for extraction. Participants are invited to share personal experiences and analyze incidents you have been involved in.
The course will begin with lecture and rope practice at the home of Mike Grijalva, 14441 233 Ave SE, Issaquah, at 8:30am on Saturday. We will then go to the Cedar River, just 8 miles away and practice rescue techniques in the river. The work will end about 4:30pm, and participants are invited back to Mike’s house for pizza dinner, BYOB. Sauna available, so bring your towel. Sunday will start at 8:30am at the Cedar River and end about 4:30pm.
Fee for the course is $150 paid thru the WKC web site, and if you lead trips for WKC, half the fee is refunded by the club. We have room for about 12 participants. Sign up now and join us.
