Posting for Paddle Trails friends.
Dear Fellow Paddlers,
I and Janiene Licciardi, both PTCC members, are planning a wilderness float trip on the Marsh Fork Canning River in the Arcitc National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska for late June and early July. We are looking for 2 or more paddlers to join us. The trip will involve flying into a remote wilderness airstrip and canoeing or rafting the river for approximately 10 day and getting picked up by small aircraft for a return to our departure point (either Coldfoot or Arctic Village). Cost of the trip will include airline fair to Fairbanks, Alaska, road or flight cost (abt $250) to our departure location, and about $1400 for drop off and pick up.
The Marsh Fork Canning River flows north out of the Brooks Range to the Arctic Ocean and provides a genuine wilderness experience with magnificent Mountain terrain and abundant wildlife. The river is primarily class I-II.
Janiene and I will be paddling solo or tandem Ally canoes. For this trip you should have a collapseable boat with capacity to hold sufficient camping gear and food for the trip, some wilderness camping experience, and whitewater experience.
Looking forward to hearing from you
