Hope Island State Park, accessible only by boat, offers beaches, meadows, forest trails, and an old farm homestead. The route from Boston Harbor requires an open-water crossing and possible tide rips in Dana Passage (SK II / SK III). Put-in at the public boat launch at Boston Harbor Marina, parking is limited so car-pooling recommended. We'll cross Budd Inlet to Cooper Point, then head north to Hunter Point and northwest to Steamboat Island and Hope Island. Round trip distance about 8 nm.
