Action Needed: Lower Cispus River Take-Out Public ...
Author Last Post

The Cispus River take-out needs your help again.

Please file comments with FERC. It’s a two-step process that takes five minutes.

As reported in March 2023, the next public challenge was to get Lewis County PUD to record accurate as-built drawings so they can be held accountable for maintenance of all improvements.

To avoid future controversy over the existence of the gravel path leading to the river, it needs to be accurately delineated on the record drawings.

Go to: https://ferconline.ferc.gov/quickcomment.aspx

At the second step, enter P-2833-108, and then select that docket from the list.

Something like this comment would be helpful:

Lewis County Public Utility’s as-built drawing filed October 16, 2023 in Docket p-2833-108 is missing the last 50 linear feet of the “Gravel Trail to River and Creek” and is needed to reach the river. Having an accurate as-built drawing is indispensable to avoid future controversy over the trail’s location and maintenance. Please require LCPUD to survey the actual location of the trail and file an accurate as-built drawing.

Thank you for supporting public access to the lower Cispus River!

Related recent history:

In May 2022, we asked you to file comments, you did, and they worked! A formal complaint was filed with FERC and Lewis County PUD (the Licensee) responded to the complaint. The PUD noted they heard from boaters and subsequently relocated the boulders to unblock the boat ramp. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Your voice makes a difference.
