Mariner Express, Excellent condition, price reduce...
Author Last Post
Mariner Express standard fiberglass layup, yellow deck, off-white hull. Deck in good shape, minor bottom scratches have been filled with gel-coat to near-new smoothness. Includes spray skirt, bow float bag and sea sock. Chart bungie cords need to be replaced...I have the new bungie cord ready to install.

It's surprisingly fast and roomy for a 16' boat. Detailed descriptions of the boat can be found at
under the Model History link, the Sea Kayaks pulldown menu, and the Reviews pulldown (review from Sea Kayaker magazine).

Boat has rear bulkhead and large hatch. No front bulkhead: uses a large floatbag for bow flotation, and a sea sock if you want extra security. I have been paddling sea kayaks with this bulkhead configuration for 20 years and really like it. Loading the bow with one large dry bag in a few seconds beats struggling to get small bags through a front hatch. I've felt the need to use the sea sock only about 5 times, for beach surfing or long solo crossings.

No rudder and no need for one. Boat responds very well to a sweep stroke and a little edging.

Always stored indoors. Little use in last ten years...I have one sea kayak too many! Photos available this weekend on request. Could bring to Greenlake, Shilshole, Lake Union or ? for a test paddle.
