Blake Island from West Seattle

Cross from Alki to Blake Island, enjoy a serene island and the view of Seattle.

Learn how to use a marine radio to make a safe crossing of Puget Sound.  If you have never done so, this is en excellent opportunity for a new adventure!  The crossing is about 3.5 nm and needs to be made quickly in order to avoid becoming the hood ornament of a freighter.   We will cross with a forecast of 15 knots or less.

Once on Blake there are many options for further exploration: hike the trails, circumnavigate the island, or nap on a picnic table.  The island has a beautiful shoreline and beach.

We should be back in time for the happy hour menu at Cactus.

Launch around 10 am

Note: Paddling in Winter can be dicey! If forecast does not support crossing, we will find an alternative route from the same location.
