Slicey Kayak Clinic with ACA Instructor Kyle Thomas (II+/III)
Want to learn how to stern squirt or rock splat that half slice or full slice kayak you recently purchased? Join ACA Level 5 Instructor Kyle Thomas and learn how to have more splashy fun on the river (and maybe get a bit of verticality). The aim of this course is to increase your confidence in a slicey kayak and smile more on the river. Hopefully there will be a few laughs and giggles throughout the day. The course is changing up a bit. We will be paddling from Split Rock to Big Eddy. If things go really well and levels cooperate, we could park at Boulder Drop after and park 'n play up a splat spot just below the Boulder Drop rapid.
When:
Saturday, April 3, 2021, 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM
Where:
Skykomish River - Split Rock to Big Eddy. Meeting at Big Eddy parking lot at 10:00 AM.
Index, WA

Registration is closed - Event is full
Payment In Full In Advance Only
Appropriate half slice or full slice boat and safety gear are required. Your class III kayaking skills must be suitable for paddling the Skykomish River - Big Eddy section. A reliable kayak roll is mandatory, as slicey kayak moves often lead to flips. Float bags are mandatory for hard-shell boats. We will be following WKC protocols for COVID-19, including mask wearing for off water use and social distancing. It is required that everyone on the trip fill out the Outdoor Adventure Center waiver and submit it to the trip leader who will deliver it to OAC. If unsure, contact the trip leader in advance.
Registration cancellations will be accepted
