Let’s turn a midweek, after-work run into a bit of an adventure. Assuming levels cooperate, the plan will be to paddle (and explore) the short section of the SF Snoqualmie below Twin Falls – just upstream of the normal SF Snoqualmie run. For this, we'll hike our boats 1+ mile up the Twin Falls trail to the river access near the base of Twin Falls. This takes about 30 minutes and is not as bad as it sounds. Along the way we'll drop our boats and take a breather while we sneak through the forest to scout a short, beautiful little canyon from the cliffs above. Once on the river, the paddle down to percolator pool will be low volume, technical, and somewhat contrived in places. And there will be a bit of creative portaging. But that's all part of the adventure that expands our world of kayaking. Plus, it's FUN and BEAUTIFUL. At percolator there's a great (optional) seal launch rock. Plus, we gain some water back into the river and have a few fun drops between there and the take-out, which is the normal SF Snoqualmie put-in. No (car) shuttle required!
If levels for the SF Snoqualmie are not appropriate, we’ll do our best to figure out another local adventure.
