Lochsa -- III/IV -- CANCELED
About this event
The Lochsa is a beautiful wild and scenic river in Northern Idaho. It's about a 10 hr drive from Seattle, the last miles of which are up the river canyon on Hwy 12. The best place to camp in at Wilderness Gateway Campground (https://goo.gl/maps/t9SLsBmFYku8Szu4A) where sites are $14/night, but if we get enough folks to attend, I'll try to get the group site.
The river has class III and IV sections, all of which are a blast. A typical day has a shuttle leaving for put-in at about 10 (or putting in directly from the campground) with a 10-15 mile river run which puts us back in camp by mid-afternoon.
We'll shoot for flows between 4500 and 5500 CFS which makes for some big fun waves.
The nearest automotive fuel is 50 miles downstream from the campsite. You might want to bring a gas can to ensure you have enough fuel to run shuttles and drive to various trailheads.
