Paddling around West Seattle (6-8 mi)
Let's paddle 🌊🚣???🌊🚣???🌊🚣🌊 around West Seattle, enjoy the view of the Seattle skyline, visit Alki Point 🏖🏖🏖, ,, experience Elliott Bay.<br /><br />Description: This will be a 6-8 mile paddle, with possible wind 🌬 and waves 🌊 with wind up to 8-10 knots.<br /><br />Food/water for a 3-4 hour paddle<br /><br />During the paddle, we can work on improving our forward strokes and on edging. We can practice some water kayak rescue skills (or even rolls) at the end of the paddle if there's interest :)<br /><br />START TIME: is the launch time. please arrive earlier to unload, park, prep and for briefing.<br /><br />Immersion Gear: A wetsuit or a dry-suit (with insulating clothes underneath) is required on this paddle. Please dress appropriately for the weather and water (50-60s air temp, upper 40s water temp). NO Cotton/denim.<br /><br />Equipment Requirements: A sea-kayak (sea-worthy kayak with bulkheads (or suitable floatation bags), paddle, pfd, whistle, spray-skirt, paddle float, pump, <br /><br />As the West Seattle bridge is still closed, please allow extra time to use the detour. The event start time is the launch time. Please plan on arriving 30 mins earlier to prep.
