There are two sections we can run. A 3-3+ upper section that has a series of class 4 moves in the last 1/4 mile, and a lower section that is fun 2+ with a couple of class 3 rapids. The lower features a short, but incredibly scenic gorge.
Depending on the groups comfort/desires, we can either run the entire stretch (upper and lower), just run the lower, or split into two groups where folks running the upper can meet up with the lower crew at the Lower Dose put in. We can decide when we meet up and see how everyone is feeling.
The meet up location is the Dosewallips State Park Day Use Area, which is located downstream (river right bank) of the bridge and camping area. Discover Pass is required for the Day Use area. There is a convenience store in Brinnon for snacks, gas and beverages. Lets all plan on being to the meet up location by 11 - that will give everyone plenty of time to make the journey out to the OP.
With all the warm weather, the snowpack is melting off fast. Currently, it looks like there will be just enough water for a run, but there is an outside chance that this week's heat will melt off the remaining snow and put levels too low for the run. I'll keep my eye on the gauge and let you all know if the run drops out. I've got my fingers crossed that the flows stay up and am looking forward to a fun day with you all on a great stretch of river. Feel free to shoot me an email if you have any specific questions, otherwise I'll see you in Brinnon on the 10th!
