Launch: Lopez Village, Lopez Island San Juans

Short Description: Launch at Fisherman’s bay in Lopez Village to Turn Island state Marine park Friday night, optional Friday Harbor for dinner.
We’ll break down camp Saturday morning and head North to Shaw Island and camp at Shaw county park at Cascade Marine site. We have day-trip options depending on group.
Sunday head back to Lopez for the 10am (ish) ferry
15 nm trip is designed for sea kayakers who have experience with 3 mile crossing against current (moving water) with possible winds, bracing, previous group crossings and reentry rescue experience.

Wet-suit/dry-suit required

This trip is open to WKC / BEWET / and NSSKA club members in good standing

Basic sea kayak rescue training required (Assisted/Self re-entry rescue experience is required)

Sea Kayak must be equipped with bulkheads, deck-lines.
