Cispus Surfing in July

The group left the Copper Canyon take-out and drove up river into the rising heat of a sultry summer day.  The promise of surfing the cool green waters urged us along the river. The Cispus, while low at 574 cfs, offers numerous opportunities for play.  One of the better spots,  the "Maple Wave" in honor of the big-leaf maple tree marking the spot, has easy entry from an eddy on the left.  Eddy service is absent, but it is an easy walk back up if you so desire.

Another nice wave

Below the Maple Wave many other waves, from small to bigger, offered great opportunities to work on our skills.
