The Washington Kayak Club presents their annual
Cedar River Slalom and Downriver Races
March 19-20, 2016
This is the first event in the NW Whitewater Cup Series!
Location: where the Issaquah-Hobart road crosses the Cedar River at Landsburg, near Maple Valley, WA Course: class II+ Flow: Forecasted to be 1,000 cfs, however subject to Mother Nature’s whims
Classes: by gender, age, and type of boat (both plastic and raceboat classes)
Cost: $20.00 for the weekend ($15.00 for Saturday only even if you don’t race) Prizes: Worth staying for!
SATURDAY SCHEDULE
9am to 6pm (approx.) - Race Registration and Signing of WKC Activity roster
All Day – course open for slalom practice (except during downriver race sprints). Please register and sign waiver before getting on water.
12:00 PM - Sprint downriver races through slalom course : Open to all - all boat types welcome!
Classic race to follow completion of sprints. Classic Course will be from slalom course to waterfall -- then racers will paddle to Maple Valley take-out (11 KM total). Solid class III skills and familiarity of this section of river required to participate in classic race.
6:00 PM no-host Social Dinner at restaurant in Issaquah!
