Let’s spend later afternoon and evening hanging out at Fall into the Wall (FITW), our local “Disney Land / putt-putt golf course” creek run located at the crest of Snoqualmie Pass. Never done it? Are you confident paddling our local go-to class IV runs such as the NF Sky, upper Green gorge, Peshastin Creek? Do you lap Boulder Drop…? And while on these class IV runs, do you push yourself to make harder moves? If you paddle solidly, in control, and make harder moves on those type of runs (we’re not talking just making it through upright…), maybe you want to step it up a notch and experience some steeper gradient? If so, FITW might be just the ticket. I’m happy to go slow, scout, and help break down the run into easier-to-digest bits and pieces. Since it’s a short, roadside run, we’ll be doing multiple laps so you can always observe a lap from shore to see how it’s done. Or just come up to hang out, watch (and document) the carnage! After our laps we‘ll hang out to swap stories over snacks and beverage of choice. As a reminder – this is a “social”, so I should not be considered a guide or “trip leader”, nor will I always be there for a rescue. But I’ll do what I can. I’m just coordinating a fun social evening at FITW. A request… Please be flexible with the date, as water level is key. This date – June 9th – is our target date. June 16th is a backup option in case water levels do not cooperate June 9th. If levels don‘t cooperate for June 9th, I‘ll cancel the June 9th trip and create a trip for June 16th.

There are two sections we can run. A 3-3+ upper section that has a series of class 4 moves in the last 1/4 mile, and a lower section that is fun 2+ with a couple of class 3 rapids. The lower features a short, but incredibly scenic gorge.
Depending on the groups comfort/desires, we can either run the entire stretch (upper and lower), just run the lower, or split into two groups where folks running the upper can meet up with the lower crew at the Lower Dose put in. We can decide when we meet up and see how everyone is feeling.
The meet up location is the Dosewallips State Park Day Use Area, which is located downstream (river right bank) of the bridge and camping area. Discover Pass is required for the Day Use area. There is a convenience store in Brinnon for snacks, gas and beverages. Lets all plan on being to the meet up location by 11 - that will give everyone plenty of time to make the journey out to the OP.
With all the warm weather, the snowpack is melting off fast. Currently, it looks like there will be just enough water for a run, but there is an outside chance that this week‘s heat will melt off the remaining snow and put levels too low for the run. I‘ll keep my eye on the gauge and let you all know if the run drops out. I‘ve got my fingers crossed that the flows stay up and am looking forward to a fun day with you all on a great stretch of river. Feel free to shoot me an email if you have any specific questions, otherwise I‘ll see you in Brinnon on the 10th!
